Attended the Cedar Rapids Community Schools and I am a graduate of George Washington High School and Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska; graduated from the College of Business Administration with a major in accounting. Journalism in high school and college. Served on three boards of the Cedar Rapids Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees) and was Membership VP for one year (Bluechip). Member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Member of local landlord and Realtor® associations. Strong interest in Government Affairs with Chamber, Realtor groups and served on the Home Rule Charter Commission for the City of Cedar Rapids in '04-'05.
